Iraqi-Iranian trade exchange reached to 9 billion dollars

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iraqi Industry under-secretary met today an Iranian delegation comprising a number of specialized companies.

Both sides discussed activating bilateral industrial cooperation and possibilities of Iranian participation in work opportunities in Iraq.

The meeting, within a series, stressed the importance of bilateral industrial cooperation.

Head of the Iranian delegation Ameen Shari'ati that the trade exchanges between the two countries reached to 9 billion dollars.

He hoped this figure to be increased by common working program between the Iraqi and Iranian industrial companies, particularly in edible oils, detergents, electrical and engineering industries.

Iraqi Industry Under-secretary Maki Ajeeb Hmoud expressed desire to increase work and investment opportunities.

He added his hopes to "exchange of expertise and technology transfer between the two sides.

The Iranian companies reviewed their expertise and specializations to be discussed with their Iraqi counterparts. Iraqi Industry Ministry delegation visited Iran last February.
